The Train Job
I didn't really know that I would be able to take the show seriously at first when hearing that it was cancelled halfway through the first season. The fact that Steve the Pirate from "Dodgeball" is the pilot of the Firefly didn't do much to help the cause of the show. However, after about 15 minutes in the show I my mind was quickly changed. The show contains quite a bit of humor to it and without it would probably seem quite bland and boring. Another thing that I enjoyed about the show is that even though the brown coats lost the war they still are portrayed as "The Good Guys" within the show. They display strong morals by returning the stolen medicine back to the people who seem as though they would die without it. I do feel that turning their back on the deal they had with the man with the terrible accent (can't remember his name) will come back to haunt them in the future. Right now hulu.com has episodes 5-9 of this series that can be watched for free. I plan on watching these as part of our next few assignments that we have coming up during this next week. All in all I am anxious to see what does end up happening to the crew of the Firefly, especially the doctor's little sister. I wasn't sure at all what was wrong with her exactly, maybe she will turn out to be some kind of genius though.

Hey Adam I totally agree with you on the part where they were the good guys cause they returned the medicine. I agree cause i also believe they showed great care in the people that needed the medicine the most then they did and they also retuned the monet as well. When u said turning their back on the deal will haunt later on i agree cause in the movie the doctor's sister said they will not stop coming for them so i beleive the girl knows about the people that hired the captain and his crew to do this train job.
ReplyDeleteThat is hilarious! I totally missed that "Wash" was "Steve the Pirate!" He can be a bit goofy in some of the other episodes if that helps you any. I totally agree that it would be boring if there wasn't any humor.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I disagree with Jessica. I don't think the Simon's sister, River, is worried about "the guy with the terrible accent" following them. It's hard to call though. I think she is just is more in shocked about what happened to her. I don't want to say too much to ruin anything for you guys. It helps to watch the first episode though!
By the way, I know you guys think they're the good guys and they sure seem to appear that way. They're thieves, though, right? So, even though we all really like the crew and they returned the medicine, do you guys think they're still capable of being "bad guys?" since they're thieves? How I wrote that is probably a bit confusing. I don't quite know how to explain it easily.
Hey Sarah even though they stole the medicine yes that do make them the bad guys, but they returned the medicine and the money. By them doin that I think they can be qualified as the good guys though. Now they can be capable of bein bad guys again if they do something that is bad but I think they learned from this experience and hopefully they will stay the good guys in further episodes.
